Bug ID: 8348
Summary: Error adding a second attachments composing a message
in SOGo
Classification: Contribs
Product: SME Contribs
Version: 8.1
Hardware: ---
OS: ---
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: smeserver-sogo
Assignee: ***@gmail.com
Reporter: ***@chester-perry.it
QA Contact: ***@lists.contribs.org

The story starts here:

http://forums.contribs.org/index.php/topic,50693.0.html

Shortly, when you create a message and try to add an attachment all works fine;
if you try to add another one You get an error:
"Error while uploading the file "mandala2-23-12.png": Failed to change flags of
IMAP4 message: Error in IMAP command UID: Invalid UID messageset"
This seem to affect sogo+sme beginning from sogo 2.2.1

I filed a bug on sogo bug tracker:

http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=2675

They claim that the problem is related to IMAP capabilities: "Your IMAP server
must support the UIDPLUS extension (RFC 4315)."
This is not supported in current dovecot 1.x available in Sme 8 (dovecot.i386
1.0.7-8.el5_9.1 - Capabilities: CAPABILITY AUTH=LOGIN IMAP4rev1 SASL-IR SORT
THREAD=REFERENCES MULTIAPPEND UNSELECT LITERAL+ IDLE CHILDREN NAMESPACE
LOGIN-REFERRALS).
Sme 9 (Centos 6.5) implements dovecot 2.x that supports the UIDPLUS extension
(dovecot.i686 1:2.0.9-7.el6 - Capabilities: IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR
LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE SORT SORT=DISPLAY THREAD=REFERENCES THREAD=REFS
MULTIAPPEND UNSELECT CHILDREN NAMESPACE UIDPLUS LIST-EXTENDED I18NLEVEL=1
CONDSTORE QRESYNC ESEARCH ESORT SEARCHRES WITHIN CONTEXT=SEARCH LIST-STATUS
QUOTA).

The Bug on Sogo Bug Tracker is still open and I'm waiting further replies about
a possible stop (?) of Sogo on Centos 5.x platforms; I'm questiong if there's
some workaround that we can manage within Sme.

--- Comment #1 from Nicola Tiana <***@chester-perry.it> ---
Just as a test I tried to install SOGo on Sme9beta 4, with necessary adptations
to repositories, to verify dovecot 2.x response:

db yum_repositories set nethsme repository \
BaseURL http://smeserver.nethesis.it/releases/8/i386 \
EnableGroups yes \
GPGCheck yes \
GPGKey http://smeserver.nethesis.it/releases/RPM-GPG-KEY-nethesis \
Name "SME Server - nethesis" \
Visible yes \
status disabled

db yum_repositories set sogo repository \
BaseURL http://inverse.ca/downloads/SOGo/RHEL6/\$basearch \
EnableGroups yes \
GPGCheck no \
Name "Inverse SOGo Repository" \
Visible yes \
status disabled

db yum_repositories set epel repository \
Name 'Epel - EL6' \
BaseUrl 'http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/$basearch' \
MirrorList
'http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=epel-6&arch=$basearch' \
EnableGroups no \
GPGCheck yes \
GPGKey http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/RPM-GPG-KEY-EPEL \
Visible no \
status disabled

but I get an error on the contribs file:
Transaction Check Error:
file
/etc/e-smith/events/bootstrap-console-save/templates2expand/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
from install of smeserver-sogo-1.0.1-1.el5.nh.noarch conflicts with file from
package e-smith-apache-2.4.0-8.el6.sme.noarch

Stop to the test . . ..

hi nicola

in order to install a new version of dovecot, you could try to read this
https://wikit.firewall-services.com/doku.php/smedev/dovecot but i worry that it
is highly 'testing'....you are welcome to test and report here.

For the port of smeserver-sogo to SME9 you should direct a mail to developers,
the nethesis TEAM and see with them if some works are planned.

You could ask that to them by the irc they have also on freenode.

* Vous parlez maintenant sur #nethserver
* Le sujet de #nethserver est : All about NethServer
* Sujet de #nethserver défini par davidep le Thu Dec 12 09:29:27 2013
* #nethserver :http://www.nethserver.org

if no work is planned then we could ask to the nethesis team the last src.rpm
available and start to maintain on our own this package. Of course we need a
dedicated maintainer to this package.

I know them a bit they are really friendly men :)

here the last version available for sme8

I still get the error "Failed to change flags of IMAP4 message: Error in IMAP
command UID: Invalid UID messageset" so it seem that this not due in any way to
"boundary" condition.

@Stephane: I'm trying a contact with nethesis. Consider that the bug-assigner
(Federico) is no more involved with them.

Nethesis kindly replied: they moved to Dovecot 2.x in Nethsme and 2.1x in
Nethserver. It seem that, to follow up SOGo in Sme we should replace the
version of Dovecot.

Sogo team replyed suggesting a Dovecot upgrade; I'll try:
http://packages.atrpms.net/dist/el5/dovecot-2.1.x/
to see if anything is going to crash/burst . . . .

special repository for dovecot.

@Stephane: If this not THE solution, this is A solution (WORKING):

https://wikit.firewall-services.com/doku.php/smedev/dovecot

According to Daniel B. by FWS:
- It will install and configure dovecot 2 on SME8
- It's more or less the same thing which is available on SME9
- It's working for me on several production servers for more than two years
- It's working with SOGo and the new file attachment feature (I use SOGo on all
the servers I deploy).

After succeffully test on test machine I'll try it on myself after a backup.

It would be good to find what it doesn't work for sme9, probably a
template2expand in the file createlink
